How do you look at Breast Cancer? Is it something that just happerns to others? Is it just in the month of October that we think about what can happen to a person when they suffer from Breast Cancer. We need to support the fight for Breast cancer and it's foundation.
I havn't thought about it much affecting me because I have not had to fight the fight personally. But, I do know different family members and friends who have their own story about having had breast cancer.
My youngest cousin Rozeta McClendon currently has breast cancer. She is fighting for her life right now, due to a weakened immune system and other complications. We must continue to pray for her.
One of my dearest friends Willa Ann Lewis is in remission. She is 80 years old and is also in remission for colon cancer.
I know a daughter of a friend who also fought the fight, I am not sure of her situation. It just makes me think that we must be more aware of the disease and how it is a...
Randolph Arthur Scott Jr. Graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio UTSA on May 8, 2010 with a bachelors degree in International Business. His Minor was in Music. Randolph is in Shanghi China with his Grandmother Tivoli McClendon Smith. They have been touring China for 12 days. Their tour will end on May 22. At the end of their tour they will visit other cities in China on their own. Randolph will also be volunteering at the 2010 International Trade Fair. He hopes to do some networking during that time. When he returns to San Antonio, TX he will be looking for a job. Randolph's family and friends are truly proud of his accomplishments. Please join me in congratulating Randolph. He is able to receive email in China and so is Tivoli. Pray for their safe journey.
Mattie Mildred (Stallings) Franklin died on Sunday May 16, 2010. Mildred resided in Cleveland Ohio . Viewing will be held Sunday May 23, 2010 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, at Wright Funeral Home, Rome Georgia at 814 S. Broad Street S.W. Rome GA. 706-235-0642.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 24 at 2:00pm at Callihan Street Church of Christ, 108 West Callahan Street Northeast , Rome GA 30161 706-291-0675. Burial will be at Eastview Cementary.
Catherine Dorth passed away Nov. 17 of a long illness.

2008 brought about a change for African Americans, and all races in the United States. Millions of well wishes celebrated until the wee hours of the night as election results came in. Voters eargerly awaited the decision on the streets of Chicago, Washington D.C. at the steps of the White House, Harlem, Ohio, Hawaii and Kenya.
Voting parties were the norm at clubs, homes, churches and restaurants. No one went to bed early on November 04, 2008. By 9:00 P.M. central standard time there was an excitement in the air as newscasters announced that Obama had over 200 electorial votes. As I watched the returns come in I became anxious thinking about the possibility of my candidate winning the election. Within 2 hours, reality had finally set in. Barack Obama had won the race for presidency! Sarah Palin and John McCain had conseeded. And, Barack Obama gave a unity speech that would make Martin Luther King proud.
